Pharmascenery is my experimental home for essays about drugs, healing, and labor, mostly, and how they push against, get subsumed by, and intertwine with capitalism, written from my experiences as a long-time human research subject and contract worker.

What to expect:

  • A mixture of personal essays, rants, and journalistic forays

  • Writing that’s careful, personal, critical, and led with curiosity (And backed by research. And pro-science)

  • A lot of rumination about Big Pharma, drug testing, and the people who test our drugs

  • Stories about the overlooked labor (eg. Amazon delivery driving, sex work, guinea pigging, contract work, and poverty hustles)

I’m currently figuring out how to balance a posting schedule with my new job (Yikes!), and my current output is about one article a month—although I’m hoping to double that soon.

It’s new, and I’d love your input! (And support.)
